Artist Statement:

I am attracted to the Midwest’s splendor. Stormy skies, quiet fields, waterways bathed in twilight. These are the real places of the Midwest, where the vast sky is ever-changing in its poetry of light.” To translate this poetry into paint, Bogosian begins by taking photos and doing sketches of the views he selects before returning to his St. Louis, Missouri, studio to create panoramic scenes of flat landscapes overhung with moody, complex skies.
